As 2025 arrives, I think it’s important to reflect on 2024
My word for 2024 was intentional. I started the year by getting intentional about growth.
My first challenge was embarking on my UKCC journey to improve myself as a coach. One of the reasons I chose British Showjumping was I felt that this was probably my weakest phase. The course content, other candidates and BS staff/facilities were fantastic. I came away with a lot and am an accredited BS coach, which I am pleased to say has definitely benefited me, my horses and my clients. My biggest learning was that small changes in my coaching focus provides big results.
I was also intentional about challenging my riding. I decided to move Sage up to Novice level. I haven’t been Novice in several years, having one horse competing and producing that horse from the beginning, all provided its own challenges. Things change…. rules, courses, myself… all of this allowed for much growth. I felt like a newbie again 🤣
I was intentional about my business. I managed a new website with an online booking facility. I’m really happy with this. It’s definitely a steep learning curve with some mistakes along the way and in no way complete. It been a good stretch and has made things easier for everyone. I also had fantastic camps and collaborations. I always enjoy working with Amy Blount Dressage, our values align and Amy is a brilliant and empathetic coach. I’m thrilled to be part of the RiderCise team and to be the first official Lucinda Green XC Academy coach. I even went to Ireland to coach an academy xc clinic. I always enjoy coaching the Royal Artillery Equestrian Team, the AGC and for the Pony Club as well. I love my job and helping so many different people and horses fills me with joy and energy.
I also ran my second Bucket List Beach Retreat in 2024. This is such a special event for me. My initial goal was to develop an experience that brought riders together with their horses for pure enjoyment and deep and meaningful conversation. It is truly a special event in the most magical setting.
There have been so many wonderful horses and people that have graced my 2024 year. All of which have been special and an integral part in teaching me so many things to enable my growth as a rider, a coach and as a person. I am truly blessed and grateful.
As the year closes I have chosen to make an extra special epic trip to Australia and New Zealand with my mother to visit family and friends and to make some special memories. I think it is the beginning of my word for 2025… PRIORITISE
Wishing you health, happiness and growth for the New Year!
I want to thank you for your support and hope to see you in 2025.
